from the words of Worley Darryl , welcome to my crazy, tragic, sometimes almost magic, awful, beautiful life!

Happy Father's Day!

I always seem to learn something new about my dad everytime I talk to him, and I mean have an actual conversation with him and not just talking "in the moment" like I've always been used to with him for the past 26 years. This past year I have learned quite a lot about him and I feel a little closer to him because of it. I learned that he loves those hawaiian type shirts (which is good to know since I now have a new present to get him besides Home Depot gift cards or Eagles stuff). We have also had conversations about his father and what he was like since I never met him. Apparently, his father was a professional baseball player when he was younger. It has always been interesting to me to talk to and learn about other people and this is even more interesting to me because I have "known" the man for 26 years, but am just now actually getting to really know him as a person and not just as my dad. Happy Father's Day, Dad!

Somewhere, over the.....

Mother nature has been providing some neat pictures for me. I left work as it was downpouring and as I was on the bridge to Jersey, the Jersey side was very bright through the clouds. As I was driving down the street, I looked over to see this beautiful rainbow and had to pull over to take a picture of it! There's something about a rainbow that just puts a big smile on my face and is hard to not stare at it as you are driving (hoping you won't crash into something!!).

living room colors

I think I have decided on what the living room colors will be...yellow and light brown/tan. This picture gives a good sense of what I would like the room to look and feel like with the sun rays shining in the windows.

fire in the sky

The loud thunder booms; then the lightning flashes like a fire in the sky. I went to visit Mom-Mom and my Mom last night and left as it began lightning. As I got half way home, the lightning was flashing every second directly in front of me. Since the roads I take are all country roads with big open fields, the view of these rods were so attention grabbing. I got to a stop sign right before it started downpouring and took some shots right after another hoping that one of the shots would at least get some sort of lightning, but wasn't expecting an awesome picture like this coming from my old digital camera. Wow. Isn't that awesome?!!?!

So comfy

While everyone was swimming in the pool on Sunday, Mom-Mom sat in this awesome chair and relaxed, dozing off and on, every now and then looking up to make sure the boys weren't going to hit her with the waffel ball :-)
She looked so calm and peaceful and as I often looked over at her, all I could do was smile! Everyone deserves a good time in the shade, especially her.

Siding's up!

This something daily really captures the quickness of the house being built. In one day, the siding was up! Now it's starting to look like an actual house!

First time for everything!

Ahhh, the first day of the summer season to me is always the first day at the beach! What a great couple of days I had at the shore. Friday the beach was pretty empty for one reason or another, maybe the haziness or maybe everyone was working; all I know is I was one of the lucky ones sitting on the beach. They say there's a first time for everything and today was the first time I got attacked by a seagull. Not once; but twice! I always heard stories of people saying "be careful of eating on the beach or a seagull will get you" but I never saw it happen and I never really believed it to be true. As I was eating my ham and cheese sandwich, minding my own business, this darn seagull swooped in from behind and started eating my sandwich as I was eating it. It was the funniest thing that has happened to me in a long time! Therefore, I had to make my new seagull friend today's one a day.

View from the back

I always take pictures of the front of the house...until today! You see those two big holes in the back of the house? Those are our huge living room windows!!!! The windows directly above it on the left are normal size windows. I had no idea they were that big! There is one on each side of the fireplace. Although you can't tell in this picture, the view from these windows into our backyard is going to be beautiful - especially when it snows!! Now if I can only figure out what colors I want to use...a color that will go along with the personality of the room: Serene. Naturelike. Soothing.

I love my pearls!

You are getting the first look at our wedding invitations!! After looking at about 100 of them, I had a feeling that the first one I saw was going to be it - and it was! You can't tell by the picture, but they are on a pearly paper, have small "pearls" as the border, and the wording will be in gold. So simple, but very elegant looking! I just love pearls!!!

Such a great section!!

Last year I bought Jilly and my Mom tickets for Mother's Day to a phillies game and we had such a great time - even in the pouring rain!! This year, I decided to do it again and have it be an annual Mother's Day present for them since I love having the three of us spend time together (and when madi gets to be old enough, we can start bringing her!). Well, this year, we sat in an awesome section that I never sat in before and it was really fun! Since not everyone in my bridal party is 21, I want to do something special for everyone so they can be included in the fun since some won't be able to attend the bachlorette party; so I'm thinking I am going to take them to the Phillies game and this is the section I want to sit in! You have your own bathrooms right here, own bar and food, and the best part is you have a $10 credit on your ticket to use wherever you want! Now let's hope I can get tickets for this section!!

I'm inspired!

Right when I saw this tabletop for a wedding in a magazine, I fell in love with it! The colors, the beautiful flowers, and the fact that it goes SO well with the ballroom and wine theme! I am going to talk to the florist to see if she can do the flowers like that and I'm going to get votive candle holders from Michael's and ribbon and put candles around the table instead of the other decor you see here. All you readers are getting a first glimpse at the wedding decor!

Progress

The house is coming along quickly. Although we've been told the outside is much quicker to build than the inside, I still get so excited when I drive to Chestnut Hill and see the progress!
