2 down!

I finished my second MBA class last night, what a relief! I have an entire week "off" next week that I can actually go home everyday after work, it's going to feel so wierd. But then the next class starts the following week. I think I am the only person taking summer courses, but I'd rather get done quicker. I hope the weather next week is just as beautiful as it has been. I have to get my butt back in running gear. My dress is coming in shortly and I want to be bridal fit!
Today's is my momma's birthday! She is still quite a foxy lady, I tell ya!

laughter is the best medicine

Have you ever laughed because of someone else laughing? Not because you know why the other person is laughing, but only due to the other persons laugh, as if it's contagious. This happened to me today. It was a nice ending to a long day just because of laughter.

Fresh flowers can do wonders

Last week during my hellish week of working all day then going to school until 11pm everynight, I decided to buy a bouquet of spring flowers for my desk at work to liven my spirits. It actually had a positive effect on my mood and my co-worker's moods as well. All the flowers died, but this one pink gerber daisy lasted the longest and made it all the way through my hellish week even into this week.
It's amazing what some fresh flowers will do for your strength of mind.

It feels so real!

On Saturday, Alex and I had our detail meeting for our wedding. We figured this was a good time to have our parents join us, along with Noelle, since they haven't seen it yet. Until now, the wedding has kind of seemed like a figment of my imagination that I have been planning for but didn't seem too real (since everything has been planned for so long). Now, it feels real and I couldn't be more excited! I wish it was here already! This big barrel of wine is on the major highway leading into the Renault grounds...I know when I see this on September 20th, I am going to be ecstatic knowing that in only 1 mile, I will be getting married :-)

Mom survey

What is something you treasure that you recieved from your mom. Whether it be words of advice, something she taught you, a trait of hers you have, a physical item she gave you or passed down to you, etc.? I read an article today about this and I knew right away what I treasure the most from my mom and figured I would see what you all treasure from your mom. Especially since Mother's Day is coming up, if you haven't ever thought about it or told her, maybe creating a little card telling her could be a nice thoughtful idea. I'm sure there are many, but what's the first thing that comes to mind.

*I have my mom's smile and whenever someone tells me I have a nice smile, I always quietly thank her to myself*

Sorry!

Last week was a very bad, busy, tiring and miserable week for me! I didn't have any time to upload my pictures because I didn't get home until 11pm every night but I will do it asap because I have a couple goodies you might all be interested in! But not uploading in a week made me realize who looks forward to seeing them everyday and knowing that people actually look forward to seeing my project brought a smile to my face :-)
So, don't worry, after tonight, my class is pretty much done, and I will have time. Until then...

Today (4/12) was my Aunt's surprise party and let me tell you - it was a blast!! Although I took many pictures tonight, I must say that this one is my favorite!!! Whenever I am having a bad day, I am going to look at this, because it makes me laugh so hard!! I love seeing my mom and sister have a great time and they definitly did tonight!!

Take me out to the ballgame

Today (4/11) was me and Alex's first Phillies game of the season! We love going to sporting events and this one was even more special because we had so many of our family and friends with us to have fun!! Today also marked the 10 year (dating) anniversary of one of my favorite couples who we were lucky enough to celebrate with! I was lucky enough to be in their wedding over 5 years ago and this picture of Colleen and Tommy is today's one a day because their love is such an inspiration to me!! and to make the day better, the Phillies won!

5K HERE I COME!!!!

Today is a wonderful day for me!!! This picture is me right after I ran 3 miles for the first time ever in under a half hour!!! It usually takes me 45 minutes to run 2.5 miles but I have been running for the past month and finally reached my endurance for the time/distance I wanted to move onto my next goal. I think I might be ready for my first real 5k race. I really hope to achieve my lifetime goal of running the Broad street 10 mile run next May!! Baby steps people, it's all about baby steps!!!!

AJ phone home

After I come home from my long days at work then class, I love how this man just puts the biggest smile on my face especially when I think he is snoring and he is really laying in bed pretending to be sleeping, anticipating my arrival just so he can make me smile :-)

Dancing with the Stars...i mean, Lisa and Alex

As Dancing with the Stars was coming on, Alex decides to pick me up off the couch and swing me around his back trying to prove he could be a professional dancer on the show (he also thinks he should be on American Idol and I hope he never tries out because he would so be one of the horrible people they show!!). So today's one a day is me in mid-air as Alex is whipping me around his back......watch out wedding attenders, Alex might whip out his tights and perform for you all at my expense.

"Bath" time

Today I spent the afternoon with the Rudley's and Kendall was so cute!! (The Rudley's are my cousin Amy and Dan and her 4month old baby). She was smiling and her big beautiful blue eyes just lit up the room. Amy put Kendall on the floor at one point and Murphy started licking her feet and it was the cutest thing!!!! Kendall would kick her feet up and laugh and I couldn't resist taking a picture of it (which I was lucky because my original picture for today's one a day purpose didn't come out when I uploaded the pic).

Wine corks, please

On Day 3, I went into one of those little shops that have the cutest things during my lunch break and it had so many things that sparked ideas for the wedding. I saw this wine glass filled with wine corks and it looked really neat with the whole wine set up that it got me thinking of neat ways to use corks at the wedding (ya know, since we are getting married at a winery). So now I am collecting wine corks :-)

perfect example

Day two's picture is a perfect example of why I love this project. To most of you, this is just a picture that obviously looks like a little kid drew; however, to me, this is a masterpiece and if I ever lose this little drawing, I will now have a picture of it to always remember the day Madison drew it. The mind of a child amazes me. On Easter, Madison was drawing (something she loves to do) and I was watching her draw from across the room and when she was finished, she walked over to me and said, "Look Aunt Lisa, it's Homer". For those who don't know, Homer is our cat. Take a good look at this picture now - notice it says Homer up top (remember, its a 4year old who wrote this who does not attend school so, if you look closely, the line of scribble in the middle and what looks like a 't' is really an 'E' and 'r')...she did this all by herself & I still have no idea how she knew how to spell homer's name, let alone write it in the correct letter sequence and how adorable is that cat!! This is a drawing that I will cherish forever, because the moment she told me to look at it and I noticed what it was, I felt like she was the smartest person on earth - and wow, that is a great feeling!

feedback (and no, not the Janet song)!

I want to thank everyone for the great feedback I have gotten regarding this project and I am SO excited that some of you have emailed me back saying you are going to try it also. Renee has already created her blog - all by herself!! good job, Renee!! Now I am even more excited to track everyone else's one a days :-)
This project can now serve an additional purpose...to follow little moments of others that you care about!

From the ground up

Today marked the first day of construction on our new house. Alex and I drive by often and see just a pile of dirt; but today, I drove by and there was a sign in front of the big pile of dirt that stated our future address and numerous flags marking the ground. How exciting!!!!
I recently heard a story of how someone took one Polaroid picture a day. Only one. This photograph could represent something you are feeling then and there, something that catches your eye for one reason or another or could be a gradual picture of the same thing (like a baby, flower, etc) – just to give some examples. When viewed over time, it essentially creates a story of moments in your daily life you may have forgotten about that obviously had an impact on you for you to photograph it - a photo journal, if you will. It could, in effect, also turn into a piece of art.
I am going to try this and document my daily one a day. I have a polaroid camera but I wonder if a digital picture would be just as influential?

it's a "Lisa" thing

When I heard the idea about the one a day, I thought it was such a "Lisa" thing to do. I love pictures, but even more than that, I love the small things in life - those little moments we tend to forget about. This project is going to allow me to document my daily inspirations, feelings and life's little moments in general. Hopefully, at some point, I can look back at it and get good mental images of a moment or feeling in time.

Stay cont'd for day one...
